Launch of the BRC20.com L2 Testnet
As February draws to a close, we are pleased to announce the official launch of the BRC20.com L2 testnet - opBTC. Users can now bridge from the Bitcoin testnet to the opBTC testnet using https://bridge.testnet.brc20.com.
This marks an important milestone in our roadmap and we will be releasing further details on the mainnet launch of opBTC, as well as our liquidity campaign and a first of its kind Community Burn Offering, in the coming weeks.
For now, users are able to test out bridging and deploying on our fully EVM compatible L2 network. We will also be releasing a campaign for users to track their testnet participation and details of our incentivisation campaign in the coming days, as well as full technical documentation for developers to begin building out DAPPs for the mainnet launch.
The opBTC testnet works with any EVM compatible wallet such as Metamask - you simply need to add the custom RPC for the testnet to your wallet with the following details:
Network Name: opBTC Testnet
RPC URL: https://rpc.testnet.brc20.com
Chain ID: 627463
Currency Symbol: BTC
Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.testnet.brc20.com
All transactions on the testnet can be viewed at https://explorer.testnet.brc20.com.
We are also hard at work deploying the BRC20.com L2 based DEX to the first L2 network it will operate on - the BRC20.com DEX will operate across a number of Bitcoin based L2 networks and we will be working with our institutional partners to provide deep liquidity for BRC20 tokens including .COM. Of course the BRC20.com DEX will also be the premier DEX on the opBTC mainnet.
